“The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down periods of work into 25-minute intervals called ‘pomodoros’ (from the Italian word for ‘tomato’) separated by breaks. Closely related to concepts such as timeboxing and iterative and incremental development used in software design, the method has been adopted in pair programming contexts.”

The basic unit of work in the Pomodoro Technique can be split in five simple steps:
1) List all your tasks on a piece of paper2) Choose a task to be accomplished
3) Set a Timer to 25 minutes
4) Work on the task until the Timer rings5) check off your task from sheet of paper
6) Take a short break (5 minutes is OK)
7) Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer break

SharePoint Consultant Resolution #1
Always be learning.
I haven’t really invested in myself over the last 2 years. One of the things im going to focus on this year is learning. Ill probably take a leaf out of Matt Cutts and try learning something new every 30 days. As a SharePoint Consultant, SharePoint will obviously be a focus, but id like to continue to learn more about peripheral technologies and also some of the “softer” skills.
